HOW MANY TVR ARE LEFT?
There are 5,738 TVR left on the road in the UK (i.e. with valid road tax). There are a further 5,067 TVR that are currently SORNED.
The total number of TVR was highest during 2007 Q4 (11,825). The number taxed topped out in 2004 Q4 and the total SORNed was at its maximum during 2024 Q4.
Since the total peaked, some 1,020 (9%) TVR have been scrapped or exported.
During 2018 Q4 the number of TVR that were off the road (SORN) exceeded the number that were licensed for the first time. This could indicate the owners are reluctant to sell or scrap their car as they view them as a potential future classic.
In the last 10 years the total number of TVR has gained 194. Licensed models have fallen by 1,453 and the SORNed total has increased by 1,647.
The 5 year trend shows an overall increase of 268 TVR models. Taxed models have grown by 3 and the SORNed total has increased by 265.
53% of the surviving 10,805 TVR in the UK are still on the road.
