HOW MANY TOMOS ARE LEFT?

There are 136 TOMOS left on the road in the UK (i.e. with valid road tax). There are a further 942 TOMOS that are currently SORNED.

The total number of TOMOS was highest during 1994 Q4 (4,359). The number taxed topped out in 1994 Q4 and the total SORNed was at its maximum during 2025 Q1.

Since the total peaked, some 3,281 (75%) TOMOS have been scrapped or exported.

During 2007 Q4 the number of TOMOS that were off the road (SORN) exceeded the number that were licensed for the first time. This could indicate the owners are reluctant to sell or scrap their car as they view them as a potential future classic.

In the last 10 years the total number of TOMOS has gained 318. Licensed models have fallen by 108 and the SORNed total has increased by 426.

The 5 year trend shows an overall increase of 63 TOMOS models. Taxed models have declined by 58 and the SORNed total has increased by 121.

87% of the remaining 1,078 TOMOS in the UK are currently off the road.
