HOW MANY MG TF ARE LEFT?
There are 7,815 MG TF left on the road in the UK (i.e. with valid road tax). There are a further 6,802 MG TF that are currently SORNED.
The total number of MG TF was highest during 2009 Q2 (25,887). The number taxed topped out in 2005 Q4 and the total SORNed was at its maximum during 2023 Q4.
Since the total peaked, some 11,270 (44%) MG TF have been scrapped or exported.
During 2022 Q4 the number of MG TF that were off the road (SORN) exceeded the number that were licensed for the first time. This could indicate the owners are reluctant to sell or scrap their car as they view them as a potential future classic.
In the last 10 years the total number of MG TF has fallen by 6,900. Licensed models have fallen by 10,181 and the SORNed total has increased by 3,281.
The 5 year trend shows a total decline of 3,127 MG TF models. Taxed models have declined by 2,985 and the SORNed total has fallen by 142.
