HOW MANY LIFAN ARE LEFT?

There are 220 LIFAN left on the road in the UK (i.e. with valid road tax). There are a further 2,383 LIFAN that are currently SORNED.

The total number of LIFAN was highest during 2008 Q3 (3,413). The number taxed topped out in 2008 Q3 and the total SORNed was at its maximum during 2024 Q1.

Since the total peaked, some 810 (24%) LIFAN have been scrapped or exported.

During 2015 Q2 the number of LIFAN that were off the road (SORN) exceeded the number that were licensed for the first time. This could indicate the owners are reluctant to sell or scrap their car as they view them as a potential future classic.

In the last 10 years the total number of LIFAN has fallen by 674. Licensed models have fallen by 1,368 and the SORNed total has increased by 694.

The 5 year trend shows a total decline of 321 LIFAN models. Taxed models have declined by 358 and the SORNed total has increased by 37.

92% of the remaining 2,603 LIFAN in the UK are currently off the road.
