HOW MANY HYOSUNG ARE LEFT?

There are 1,000 HYOSUNG left on the road in the UK (i.e. with valid road tax). There are a further 3,317 HYOSUNG that are currently SORNED.

The total number of HYOSUNG was highest during 2017 Q3 (4,869). The number taxed topped out in 2009 Q3 and the total SORNed was at its maximum during 2024 Q2.

Since the total peaked, some 552 (11%) HYOSUNG have been scrapped or exported.

During 2016 Q4 the number of HYOSUNG that were off the road (SORN) exceeded the number that were licensed for the first time. This could indicate the owners are reluctant to sell or scrap their car as they view them as a potential future classic.

In the last 10 years the total number of HYOSUNG has gained 278. Licensed models have fallen by 1,181 and the SORNed total has increased by 1,459.

The 5 year trend shows a total decline of 272 HYOSUNG models. Taxed models have declined by 690 and the SORNed total has increased by 418.

77% of the remaining 4,317 HYOSUNG in the UK are currently off the road.
