HOW MANY HINO ARE LEFT?

There are 165 HINO left on the road in the UK (i.e. with valid road tax). There are a further 666 HINO that are currently SORNED.

The total number of HINO was highest during 2014 Q3 (1,781). The number taxed topped out in 2014 Q3 and the total SORNed was at its maximum during 2024 Q2.

Since the total peaked, some 950 (53%) HINO have been scrapped or exported.

During 2020 Q1 the number of HINO that were off the road (SORN) exceeded the number that were licensed for the first time. This could indicate the owners are reluctant to sell or scrap their car as they view them as a potential future classic.

In the last 10 years the total number of HINO has fallen by 866. Licensed models have fallen by 1,366 and the SORNed total has increased by 500.

The 5 year trend shows a total decline of 266 HINO models. Taxed models have declined by 381 and the SORNed total has increased by 115.

80% of the remaining 831 HINO in the UK are currently off the road.
